Born and raised in the heart of the Rogue Valley in Central Point, Oregon, Dr. Jethro Houston McFarland grew up immersed in the outdoors—rafting the wild Rogue River, skiing fresh powder on Mt. Ashland ...in winter, biking its trails in summer, and exploring every backroad from John’s Peak on a dirt bike to hidden fishing holes and forest hikes. Nature wasn’t just a backdrop—it was his playground, classroom, and the rhythm of his childhood.
In his early twenties, while hiking in Utah’s Wasatch Range, he paused on a sun-warmed rock after crossing several long snowfields and gazed out over the Salt Lake Valley, watching the roads and highways pulse with movement—each car like a cell, flowing through the city like blood through a living body. It was there, in that moment of stillness and reflection, that he felt a clear calling: to help people from all walks of life reach their fullest potential—mind, body, and spirit. Though it would be years before he officially entered chiropractic school, that moment sparked a journey that eventually led him to earn his doctorate in chiropractic and a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine.
What patients value most about Dr. Jethro is his gentle yet effective adjusting style, rooted in evidence-informed practice and a whole-person approach. He takes time to understand the full clinical picture that brought patient to his care—physically, mentally, and emotionally. From this foundation, he is able to empower patients to make meaningful changes in their daily lives and guide them toward a whole-health perspective that honors the interconnected triad of mind, body, and spirit.
Dr. Jethro defines wellness as the ability to be fully present—mentally, emotionally, and physically—in the moment you’re living. When these elements align, they create a synergy that magnifies what it means to be human. As a husband and father of four, he finds grounding in the stillness of the forest, the song of the wind through the pines, and the rhythm of the wild. Some of his most meaningful moments come from sharing the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest with his children—whether hiking, camping, or simply wandering outside together. In those moments, wellness becomes more than a concept—it becomes a lived, lasting experience.
