Dr. Matt Rusecki was born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, just 15 minutes away from the Chiro One Mount Pleasant clinic. Growing up he loved playing hockey for the Kenosha Komets and doing martial arts ...at Kenosha Tae Kwon Do Club. He is extremely excited to serve the community that he grew up in.
Throughout his adolescence, Dr. Matt had many sports related injuries - along with a fascination with bones and how they function as the structural framework of the body. While playing hockey, Dr. Matt was body checked in the middle of the ice arena — falling down and landing on his upper back and neck. For several agonizing months, he had pain and discomfort in his neck that would not resolve. He was constantly trying to relieve the pain, but nothing worked. Finally, in high school he was introduced to a chiropractor, who was able to diagnose the root cause of his pain — a misaligned bone compressing the nerve. As soon as the DC adjusted his neck, the pain reduced substantially. Dr. Matt felt immediate relief. After several more adjustments the pain completely resolved. While training for martial arts, Dr. Matt would regularly get adjusted due to the high impact of sparring.
What patients appreciate most about Dr. Matt is his warm conversation, ability to listen to patient concerns, and make each patient feel heard and truly cared for. He develops individualized care plans to help each patient reach their health and life goals. Dr. Matt loves caring for others and helping them reach their full potential.
Dr. Matt defines wellness as proper functioning of both mind and body. He maintains his own wellness by prioritizing fitness, working out 4-5 times a week by weight training at Olympus Fitness and walking around Lake Andrea with his girlfriend and his dog, Ollie. He is an avid Packer fan and cheers them on during every game. In his free time when he isn't watching the Packers, he enjoys, movies, board games, and hanging out with friends and family.
