Dr. Megan O’Malley
Our Lakeview Chiropractor
Education: Northwestern Health Sciences
Hometown: Wheaton, IL
Dr. Megan O’Malley grew up an active child and teenager in Wheaton IL. A high school cheerleader, she was full of school spirit and loved the energy Friday night football games as the community came together to cheer on the home team. She describes herself as someone who was a friend to everyone, never limiting herself to a single group but instead building relationships and offering a warm smile to everyone. Her hometown remains dear to her heart, and she loves going back to visit on the weekends.
As a teenager, Dr. Megan was passionate about health and wellness, particularly nutrition. She earned her B.S. in Nutrition from The University of Minnesota, but didn’t want to follow the typical route – becoming a dietician – though she was certain she wanted a career involving wellness. That’s when she discovered chiropractic care. She loved that her Doctor of Chiropractic program emphasized nutrition and that it aligned so closely with her values and beliefs.
What patients love most about Dr. Megan is that she is very lighthearted with them and ensures every patient feels comfortable in her presence. It’s something she values deeply, especially considering how chiropractic care can be very unique experience for a patient brand new to the approach. Trust and comfort are essential to creating a great experience.
When it comes to wellness, Dr. Megan describes herself as “very passionate” about strength training, something she says has changed her life. She considers it the best form of exercise for women in terms of longevity and wants to help end the stigma sometimes associated with weight training for women. And of course, she is passionate about nutrition and prioritizing whole foods. She also takes care to approach her own diet with mindfulness and a sense of balance, choosing both foods that fuel the body, and foods the bring joy.
