Dr. Matthew Strickland
Our Oak Forest Chiropractor
Education: National University of Health Sciences
Hometown: Glendale Heights
Dr. Strickland loves seeing patients’ faces light up when their condition starts to improve. It’s what keeps them coming back to each appointment until they’re able to return to the activities they love.
Helping people live their best lives was always part of his childhood in Glendale Heights Il, where his passion for patient care was born. After injuring his shoulder, Dr. Strickland tried months of physical therapy with minimal results. Once he turned to chiropractic care, improvement in his shoulder pain was almost immediate, and in two weeks it had completely resolved. That’s when he realized he was meant to pursue a career in chiropractic care.
For Dr. Strickland, wellness requires the right attitude, which is summed up in his favorite quote from basketball player Jimmy V: “Never give up! Failure and rejection are only the first step to succeeding.”To maintain his own wellness Dr. Strickland explores Chicago’s ethnic neighborhoods, runs, works out, hikes and travels as much as possible.
After completing his BS in biology at Augustana College, Dr. Strickland earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences, where he was a member the Motion Palpitation Club and the Sports Rehab Club. These experiences helped him hone in on his chiropractic specialties: sports injury management and palpitation.
