DR. MARCUS STEWARD
Our Evanston Chiropractor
Education: Parker College of Chiropractic
Hometown: Dallas, TX
Although he spent most of his childhood in Dallas, Dr. Marcus Steward, D.C., also lived all over in the United States due to his father’s military career. His wide-ranging experiences across the United States has taught him a lot about the different cultures in this country—and allows him to relate to people from all walks of life. Changing the world one patient at a time, Dr. Marcus loves serving as the associate chiropractor of Chiro One Wellness Center of Evanston.
Dr. Marcus holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas, as well as a minor in business administration. He then went on to receive his doctorate of chiropractic from Parker University where he was involved with the Student American Chiropractic Association, the Student International Chiropractic Association, the Student Texas Chiropractic Association and was president of the student chapter of the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
Chiropractic walked into Dr. Marcus’ life while he was working as a technician at a retail pharmacy; one day a chiropractic student intern stopped in to ask a question on a product and they fell into a long conversation. After learning how chiropractic had completely changed this student’s life, saved his career and eliminated his chronic back pain, Dr. Marcus knew he had to learn more. After conducting some research, Dr. Marcus realized a pharmaceutical career wasn’t for him, and he enrolled in chiropractic school the following spring.
Giving back is important to Dr. Marcus; he’s participated in races benefiting Wounded Warriors and served as a chiropractor on the medical team for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, a 60-mile walk for breast cancer awareness. Helping veterans is a cause close to Dr. Marcus’ heart; his father, a veteran who served for 21 years, underwent hip replacement surgery, but was unable to receive chiropractic care because it wasn’t included as part of his benefits. Dr. Marcus hopes to see chiropractic benefits become more available to all vets and service men and women.
In his free time, Dr. Marcus loves to travel the world, play tennis, watch movies and spend quality time with friends and family. He draws inspiration for his practice from the Mahatma Ghandi quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
