Dr. James C Erickson

Education: Palmer College

Hometown: Des Plaines, IL

What patients most appreciate about Dr. Erickson is that he lives by his favorite Mahatma Gandhi quote: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” He always takes the time to listen deeply to each patient’s story and understand their condition so he can help them not only reach goals but maintain their health and wellness long-term.

Growing up in Des Plaines, IL Dr. Erickson enjoyed a neighborhood that felt more like an extended family. All the boys and girls played baseball, kick-the-can or ghost-in-the graveyard, then jumped into a neighbor’s pool and weren’t expected to be home until the streetlights came on. These memories of family-centered community still drive his daily practice style.

Watching his father pass of cancer at age 45 drove him to make fitness and nutrition his medicine. When a leg injury caused him to pursue months of unsuccessful medical treatment, Dr. Erickson’s boss suggested he see a chiropractor. After completing a 3-month care plan, he was surprised that his leg had fully recovered, and his seasonal allergies had disappeared as well! That’s when he decided to become a chiropractor.

When he’s not helping patients heal, you can find him maintaining his own wellness. Dr. Erickson enjoys working out, hiking, fishing, repairing cars, traveling, learning new things, reading, listening to music, watching action and comedy movies, and most importantly, spending time with his wife Natalie and their families.

Since earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2005, Dr. Erickson has treated more than 150,000 patients. Most patients need more than a chiropractic adjustment to treat chronic musculoskeletal pain, so he prescribes soft tissue releases, adhesion break up, strengthening exercises, posture changes, and when needed, lifestyle and nutrition changes.
