"I haven’t felt this great in years! Can I stop coming in now?"

One of the most inspiring aspects of chiropractic is hearing patients say the words, “I feel great! I haven’t felt this great in years!” But often, they follow it with, “Can I stop coming in now?”
The transformation that’s possible when patients dedicate themselves to care can be remarkable. Rarely does a day pass in practice when there is not an exciting story of healing. We’re able to help patients with incapacitating migraines. Children who can’t breathe without assistance of daily inhalers come to know unlabored breath for the first time. Weakened or frail elderly patients regain strength and stop using assisted walking devices. Stories like these are simply why we do what we do.
At Chiro One, we believe most of our patients “get” chiropractic. But unfortunately, so many of our patients stop care before the ultimate value is truly experienced. It’s not really anyone’s fault that this happens, it’s just the result of traditional healthcare and advertising leading us to believe that our ultimate goal in healing is the alleviation of pain and symptoms. For many patients, the focus is to be pain or symptom free only, and they achieve that through chiropractic. And once they do, they assume it’s time to move on. But that’s the time to keep coming!
So what are some of the benefits missed by not continuing with chiropractic care beyond symptom relief?
One of the most recognizable health attributes you will notice when you continue with care over several years is the boost in your immune system. Research conducted in 1986 at the University of Lund; in Lund, Sweden, demonstrated how chiropractic patients exhibit a stronger immune response than average people do. In fact, research concluded patients who received chiropractic regularly over five years were 200 percent more immunoresponsive than average people. Moreover, they were 400 percent more responsive than people who were battling cancer. Dr. Ronald Pero, the study’s lead researcher concluded, “…chiropractic might optimize whatever genetic abilities you have so that you can fully resist serious disease.”
As many of our patients come to learn, the spine is key to the health of nerves. And nerves are the wired internet of the body. When your nerves are free of interference—or subluxation—your body just works better. It’s not magic or something you have to believe in for it to work; it’s science! Dedicate yourself to a long-term relationship with Chiro One to realize the true benefits of chiropractic care.
