You’re staring at an enticing menu full of delicious choices. The angel on your right shoulder screams, “Order a salad!” while the devil on your left urges you toward the Philly cheesesteak. Eating healthy is a decision we make every day and with so many daily temptations, it’s a challenge to stay on track. But don’t give up! Chiro One is here to help you improve your nutrition one healthy choice at a time.
1. Add more
You might find our advice of adding food to your diet surprising, but many of our doctors share this advice with their patients. If you’re trying to change what you eat at your meals, you’re much more likely to be successful if you slowly add in healthy foods, rather than replacing foods altogether. For example, if you are used to eating a bagel with cream cheese each morning, start adding in a green smoothie and a hard-boiled egg. Eat the healthy items first, and slowly start to phase out the unhealthy item. Soon your body will get used to metabolizing these healthy foods and crave them.
2. Shop smart
When shopping, train your eye on organic. Luckily, there is a lot of research on the benefits of organic foods, and it’s becoming easier to find, afford and buy organic. Watch for sales at your local grocery store and shop for seasonal fruits and vegetables to help keep costs down. Also, seek out local produce at farms or farmer’s markets.

4. Eat Your Water
Most of us understand that a healthy diet includes lots of water, but did you know you should be eating your water, too? Eating water-rich foods, like fruits and vegetables, helps ease digestion and allows your body to focus on other healing functions.
