Be a Winner!

Be a Winner!
Winning. In the words of the legendary NFL coach, Vince Lombardi, “Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all-time thing. You don’t win once in a while; you don’t do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”

When given the choice between winning and losing, most of us would choose to win. Often winning brings a significant price to pay, but, in the end, it is worth everything it takes to accomplish it. If you want to be a winner, below are some of the characteristics it would take to do so:

BE DARING. It is easy to sit back and talk about all of the reasons you are un-healthy, un-happy or un-successful. The daring are willing to make whatever moves are necessary to overcome their obstacles. They are willing to make these moves no matter the risk.

BE A DREAMER. Whatever you feel is possible, is. Whatever you think is impossible, is. Never, ever shoot anywhere else but high. No matter your situation, someone else has been in the exact same spot or worse and succeeded. Someone has been sicker than you are and become well. Someone has been poorer than you are and become rich. Someone has been un-happier than you, even to the point of contemplating suicide, and found peace and joy…YOU can too!

Are you living these characteristics for success?

BE COURAGEOUS. Success comes with a heavy price tag. It costs time, it costs money, it can cost relationships. However, if it serves humanity and it serves you, then it is worth it. Albert Einstein said, “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” Whatever you do, it will take courage. Whatever path you take, there will always be someone to tell you you’re wrong. Just do it anyway!

BE DIFFERENT. Always remember that the popular opinion is often the wrong opinion. If a few million people believe in a bad idea, it’s still a bad idea. Three out of 4 people in America are sick, tired and depressed. Stay on the common path and you will end up as one of the three.

BE UNREASONABLE. Martin Luther King, Jr., Abraham Lincoln, Jesus, Christopher Columbus, Henry Ford, the Wright brothers, Bill Gates, Michelangelo, Albert Einstein and B.J. Palmer were all unreasonable—each had a vision that others thought to be impossible. You may encounter significant risks, but you might also get what you want and the world needs.

BE A FAILURE. You will get knocked down, but get up again and again and again and again! Never let anyone keep you down.

DARE TO WIN. If you dare to win, you can become what our creator gave you the power to become. It is so much easier to be average. It is so much easier to be sick, take a drug, have the surgery or take the guaranteed salary rather than commission. These are the paths of least resistance. The path of least resistance makes rivers and people crooked. Dare to discover your full potential and be a winner!
